My child is teething, can I use Dentonic?
Before delving into the what, the why, and the how, let’s look into teething babies.
Teething indicators:
Age: usually at 6 months, though it can vary between 4-7 months or later
Rubbing nose and/or ears
sucking, biting more than usual
drooling excessively
swollen, painful gums
white spots on gums indicating erupting teeth
irritability, crankiness
sleep takes a hit
Once you’ve established that baby is, indeed, teething.
How can you help baby?
Double down on skin time: more cuddles, hugs, and best of all, baby wear!
Let them exercise those itchy gums: by chewing on a clean, cold, wet cloth, soaked in cold breast milk if you like. If baby is already been introduced to solids, you can offer a carrot or cucumber stick
Massage the gums with a clean finger, using firm pressure
Make a Momsicle- simply freeze breast milk (or formula, if that's what your baby is on) into a tiny cup or ice tray and give it a handle. I used an egg cup with a pacifier as a handle. A silicon spoon would work too.
The diarrhoea and fever many teething babies suffer from can be addressed with an individualized homeopathic remedy.
However, this may not be directly related to teething but rather to baby mouthing whatever they lay their hands on.
Our recommendation is to get an individualized prescription for your baby.
Remedies and recommendations:
A specifically chosen remedy can work wonders in soothing your child’s and thus your own teething terrors, rather than a mass-produced combination like Dentonic which may or may not be suitable for your little one.
There are also things you can do to help your baby, starting with doubling down on skin-to-skin and lots of babywearing; to offering momsicles.
Also, remember to start practicing oral hygiene as soon as baby starts teething. This is as simple as using a silicon finger brush to begin brushing as soon as the first tooth erupts.
