Eating well on the road

Its very easy to reach out for packaged chips and stale sandwiches when travelling; or that delicious smelling samosa, that might have been fried in reused oil.

Here are three ideas to keep the balance when on the road:

  1. Take snacks with you : pack a mix of nuts, dried fruits, boiled egg, a fruit or two, veggie sticks, a sandwich- whatever you can put together in your kitchen really. Its good to have back-up.

  2. Eat before you leave : on shorter journeys it might make sense to simply eat before you leave and then at your destination. Water can sustain you in between.

  3. Look for local food : on longer trips you might want to look for the local fruit and vegetable market and source there. Alternatively find a place the locals flock to and eat there.
